Overview
The Visual Productions Art-Net Dongle enables the Art-Net output in Canvix and VisualDMX.
As an alternative to the DMX Output of our lighting software, Canvix and VisualDMX are also capable of transmitting the fixtures’ data through the Art-Net protocol. The Dongle is available in various sizes, e.g. 2, 4, 8 and 12 universes, and allows for future capacity upgrades.
The Art-Net Dongle can be used in combination with the DMX Output & DMX Input USB devices.
HIGH DMX CHANNEL COUNT
The Art-Net protocol is very well suited for configurations with many universes and thousands of DMX channels. It saves you from having to attach a large number of USB connected DMX Outputs to your computer. With a large number of universes, the Art-Net communication uses noticeably less computer resources then USB communication.
INDUSTRY STANDARD
Art-Net is the current industry standard for sending DMX information over Ethernet. By utilizing Art-Net various third-party Art-Net equipment like DMX-converters and switches will be at your disposal.
WIRELESS
Art-Net being based on the TCP/IP Ethernet technology, means the widely available WIFI network equipment can be used to transfer the Art-Net signals wireless.
3D VISUALISERS
Many 3D lighting visualisers are Art-Net enabled. The Art-Net Dongle will enable you to visualize your VisualDMX and Canvix lighting designs in third-party applications like Martin ShowDesigner, Cast WYSIWYG (using Wygalizer), ESP Vision, Capture and others.
